The exquisitely restored Queen Anne mansion, located at 700 S. Juniper Street, is the famous A. H. Beach House, the most significant Historical Residence in Escondido. This gingerbread-festooned Victorian was built in 1896 by real estate developer Albert Beach and purchased by famed industrialist Henry Timken, the "roller-bearing magnate," as a wedding gift for his daughter. Now, high atop an expansive gated corner lot on almost half an acre, the mansion is the crown jewel in the residential neighborhood south of downtown designated as the Old Escondido Historic District. The home has been featured in numerous publications for its historic restoration including San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles.
